Time for the easiest ever edition of 'guess where we're going today' (although the gig itself is tomorrow night)… twitter.com/i/web/status/9…
Our last Watercycle residency is on the horizon and after a series of workshops in Southampton primary, secondary and special needs schools during the Autumn Term we’ll be returning in late January to perform five concerts in two days with over 800 primary children, 30 secondary students from Southampton and the Isle of Wight and a group of special needs students.
But that’s not all…. our well loved OAE TOTS events are being featured at the Turner Sims Concert Hall for the first time with our Sailing Away concert for those aged 2-5 and their parents and carers on Saturday 30th January at 11am. Later that evening we will finish with a flourish with our Watercycle community concert at 7.30pm again at Turner Sims where sea shanties will be mixed with Vivaldi’s sublime ‘Winter’ from the Four Seasons and the premier of our Concerto for Southampton, and of course our Watercycle song by James Redwood.
Not all orchestra’s are the same … To be true to our word on Friday 29th January you’ll also hear us on the Red Funnel Ferry to the Isle of Wight where we hope to ‘Baroque the Boat!’. 6pm sailing to the Isle of Wight and the 7.30pm sailing back to Southampton – who’d ever have thought it!
