It was wonderful to see, and hear, so many of you at our Tots workshops last Sunday at the Royal Festival Hall. If you grown-ups would like to know what you heard and maybe listen again at home, here’s a summary. We don’t always give chapter and verse on the music we play at the time because, let’s be honest, the under 5’s are just interested in how it sounds, not what it’s called.
So with Rachel Beckett on recorders and flute, and myself on double bass:
you heard the Badinerie from Orchestral Suite no 2 by Bach
you sang ‘Going on a Journey’, and played trains, to the beginning of Autumn (3rd movement) from The Four Seasons by Vivaldi.
you stamped and tip-toed our way to the Eiffel Tower to a Rondeau from ‘Hippolyte et Aricie’ by Rameau
you rowed the Ventian waters to the second movement of La Gardellino by Vivaldi
you danced and played with the puppet to the Country Dance from Water Music Suite no 3 by Handel
See you next time.
